Hmm.... Death and Peace, it just goes together. Duo can teach Relena to not be so naiive about war, and Relena could help Duo get past his dark past with her kind and considering nature. Duo thinks Relena's hot (remember the whole compliment at the school: "Hey good lookin'")
PLUS, he saved her from heero when he thought she would die by Heero's hand. To me, saving shows some sort of caring, because he could have just let whatever happen. Most yaoi fans consider this a major Heero and Duo friction sector, but I can see Duo and Relena, because gun shots shared between people is not conductive to romance in my mind. Plus, Duo must have been thinking Relena must be as insane as he is with the whole saving Heero thing. --Jenn Blackett

I'll admit...I don't see this much past the sexual level. To quote Jenn Blackett (see Duo and Relena) "Dark kinky war and death" They're...yeah.

Duo and Catherine

They both have lost so much because of war. They both hide a lot. Ask Trowa what happen to Catherine's parents; you get a blank stare. Ask Hirde about Duo's past; blank stare again. They have terrible pasts. (Yes, I think remembering your parents and baby brother going BOOM in front of you is equal to the massacre) They both need someone to protect, someone to be there. (Trowa and Hirde) ... I just see them as the "He was checking you out!!" "Well, she touched your ass" sort of couple. Doomed.

There's a connection. She is like him, without emotion. Without tears, and he finds that sad. This pairing, IMO, is much more...reasonable than 4xDC. There's just something about that that kills me every time. It's the lack of innocence shared between Trowa and Dorothy that I like. The fact that niether of them needs to gloss things like they would with Quatre. Protection from the harshness of the world isn't nessacary. They've both lived it, and both nearly lost their souls to it. Besides, plenty of kinky sex.
